Alithea Bio is pleased to announce that Associate Professor Pouya Faridi, PharmD/PhD, of the Department of Medicine, School of Clinical Sciences, Monash University, has joined its Scientific Advisory Board. His expertise in immunopeptidomics and his focus on clinical problems will help guide Alithea Bio’s work in therapeutic target discovery and safety assessment.
In his words
“The future of precision cancer immunotherapy depends on understanding what tumours and healthy tissues present to the immune system. Alithea Bio is addressing this critical challenge by combining deep immunopeptidomics, large-scale HLA peptide data and AI to advance therapeutic target discovery and safety assessment. I’m excited to join the Scientific Advisory Board and help translate these innovations into safer, more effective cancer immunotherapies.”
Associate Professor Pouya Faridi
Expertise built for the clinic
Associate Professor Faridi is a leading expert in immunopeptidomics, with a career built on turning antigen discovery into answers for clinical problems. He brings that experience from three roles:
- Co-Chair of the HUPO Human Immuno-Peptidome Project (HUPO-HIPP), helping steer the international effort to map the human immunopeptidome
- Head of the Translational Antigen Discovery Laboratory at the Hudson Institute of Medical Research, applying that science to real clinical questions
- Director of the Clinical Proteomics Facility at Monash University in Melbourne, Australia, bringing advanced proteomics into clinical research
From the Alithea Bio team
“Pouya is one of the leading experts in immunopeptidomics, and he brings years of hands-on experience in turning antigen discovery into solutions for real clinical problems. That combination of deep science and clinical focus is exactly what we need as we scale our platform. His guidance will help us translate our science into the clinic and bring safer, more effective immunotherapies to patients. We are thrilled to welcome him to the Scientific Advisory Board.”
Dr. Tim Fugmann, Chief Scientific Officer, Alithea Bio
Why it matters
Safer, more effective immunotherapies start with knowing which peptides tumours and healthy tissues display on HLA molecules to the immune system. Alithea Bio combines deep immunopeptidomics, large-scale HLA peptide data and AI to find therapeutic targets and assess their safety. Pouya’s clinical focus speaks directly to both goals.
What’s next
Pouya will work with the Alithea Bio team through the advisory board, starting with introductory sessions with the wider team and company leadership. We thank him for joining our journey and look forward to working closely together.
