Proteogenomic Discovery of Novel Open Reading Frames With HLA Immune Presentation on Human β-Cells
Alithea Bio is proud to share its latest peer-reviewed publication, a breakthrough study led by Dr. Daniel Hwang in collaboration with the labs of John Maris, Mustafa Mir, and Andrea Facciabene.
This research introduces HLA-Shuttle (tapasin-TM), a transformative technology designed to overcome immune evasion in “cold” tumors like neuroblastoma. By restoring HLA class I antigen presentation, this approach unmasks hundreds of previously invisible therapeutic targets, paving the way for more effective CAR-T, TCR-T, and Cancer Vaccines.
Key Breakthroughs:
-
Restores Detection: Overcomes HLA-I downregulation to “heat up” cold tumors.
-
Antigen Discovery: Identifies hundreds of new targets for immunotherapy.
-
Enhanced Killing: Stabilizes HLA-I trafficking to boost T cell-mediated tumor destruction.
Proteogenomic Discovery of Novel Open Reading Frames With HLA Immune Presentation on Human β-Cells
Alithea Bio is proud to share its first peer-reviewed publication affiliated with our research team, published in Diabetes Journal.
This study introduces a proteogenomic approach to identify novel open reading frames (nuORFs) in human β-cells, advancing understanding of translational regulation and immune presentation in diabetes.
